Early this morning, between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m., heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to brush the southwestern coast of Mauritius, especially near Le Morne. Strong lightning activity will occur over the sea, and some of these storm clouds could bring intense rain along the beaches before moving away at a speed of 37 km/h.
Mauritius remains under a very humid and unstable air mass, creating ideal conditions for rapid cloud development. Winds will blow from the east-northeast at 9 km/h, decreasing to 5 km/h at higher altitudes. The western and central highlands are most at risk, with 40–80 mm of rainfall possible within three hours, raising concerns for localized flooding around Port Louis.
The sea is calm this morning, with 1-meter waves in the west and north, 1.3 meters in the east, and up to 1.5 meters in the south.
High tide: 6:53 and 18:25
Low tide: 12:48
