Mauritius begins the week with warm and humid weather and a few localised showers. The eastern half of the island will wake up to clear sunshine, while the western regions will start the day with some cloud cover. Conditions will remain variable, with occasional sunny spells and light rain in some areas during the day.
Today’s weather: sunny east, cloudy west, risk of afternoon rain
The sun rises at 5:21 AM, bringing a bright morning to the east coast, while the western areas remain partly cloudy for a while.
Humidity is high, and after 11 AM, localised cloud formations could develop over the Central Plateau, leading to occasional showers — particularly over Curepipe, Valetta, Quartier Militaire, Providence, and St Julien, where rainfall amounts may reach 30–60 mm, sometimes accompanied by isolated thunderstorms.
Winds will be light, blowing from the north-northeast at 6 km/h in the morning and dropping to around 2 km/h later in the day. Temperatures will climb to 34°C, especially around Terre Rouge and the western coastal areas.
