Today’s weather in Mauritius starts off warm and calm, with a mix of sunshine and light clouds. The eastern part of the island enjoys bright conditions early in the morning, while the west sees a few high-altitude clouds. As the day progresses, skies are expected to turn cloudier in some regions, and isolated afternoon showers may develop, though not everywhere.
Today’s Weather: Cloudy Intervals and a Chance of Rain
After sunrise, eastern Mauritius wakes to a sunny and pleasant morning, while western areas experience thin, high clouds drifting overhead.
Later in the morning, skies will become partly cloudy across much of the island, and during the afternoon there’s a chance of light to moderate rain, with rainfall totals around 10 mm in some regions.
Cloud formations near the island may locally intensify, producing up to 38 mm of rain, but the most active storm clouds are expected to remain offshore. A humid zone near Réunion continues to influence the regional weather.
Winds this morning blow at 13 km/h from the north, increasing to 24 km/h from the north-northwest later in the day.

Marine Weather and Sea Conditions
The sea remains calm and navigable today:
- North coast: 1 m waves
- East and west: 1.3 m near the reefs
- South: 1.7 m beyond the reefs
High tide: 00:46 and 12:33
Low tide: 06:27 and 19:10
Tomorrow should bring slightly calmer seas, but Sunday and Monday could see heavier rain and rougher conditions as a humid and unstable zone moves closer to Mauritius.
Rodrigues Weather: A Mild Friday
Rodrigues saw no rainfall yesterday, but this morning some cloud development is expected along the western coastline. Around 8:00 AM, brief light rain may occur before skies gradually clear.
A gentle northeast breeze of 14 km/h will persist through the day, and the sea remains safe and pleasant, with waves reaching 1.4 metres offshore.
Extended Weather Outlook
The weekend looks increasingly unstable. Both Sunday and Monday are expected to bring widespread showers as a frontal system approaches the region.
By Tuesday, conditions should gradually improve again, with clearer skies returning to much of the island.
